Kalamba Games is an international games studio based in both Malta and Krakow, with a focus on providing slot machines and casino content to the Real Money Gaming (RMG) industry as well as the social casino market.

Kalamba Games joined the iGaming industry in 2016, when the company was set up by two industry veterans, Steve Cutler and Alex Cohen. Both came with experience in RMG and social casino, B2C operations and B2B products. The reason they entered this competitive industry was because the team identified a gap in the marketplace. They noticed that there was no supplier who could bring the best of social casino to the RMG world, as well as game design expertise. So, they decided they would fill in this gap, with a focus on revenue drivers that would make their partnering operators successful as well. With their experience in RMG B2C, B2B and social casino, Kalamba Games was the perfect company to offer something that was lacking in the industry.

Kalamba Games mission

Since their inception in 2016, Kalamba Games already had a sizeable portfolio by 2018, showcasing a range of high performing titles, with one game being released every month. Their goal for ICE 2019 is to have a portfolio of over 16 titles, increasing their release velocity to 1.5 games a month.

Ultimately, their goal is to create original slot machines by thinking out of the box to engage players with exciting slot games. Besides creating quality games, they also focus on building long-term relationships with operators to distribute their products on several online gambling sites. 

Kalamba Games partnerships

In 2017, less than a year since the two co-founders established the company, they struck a partnership with Oryx Gaming . As of May of 2017, Kalamba Games started providing titles for the Oryx Gaming platform, which combines content from several small, independent game providers. This was one of their most important achievements, as it enabled the company to showcase their unique titles on the Oryx Gaming platforms to reach a wide number of players. 

As CEO Steve Cutler commented, being a new games provider, one of their biggest challenges was to find a distribution partner that could accommodate their needs well. Oryx Gaming was able to provide this service along with the flexibility they needed to ensure they can deliver the functionality required.  

Later in 2017, they extended their reach all the way to Asia, when they partnered with Solid Gaming. Their games now became available to operators through the Solid Gaming network, which was their very first distribution channel for their games in Asia. The majority of the content was new to Asia, much of it actually being exclusive to Solid Gaming.

Kalamba Games makes a name for themselves

Whilst releasing more and more games, they continued to extend their reach by partnering with Wunderino during the same year that they partnered with Solid Gaming. In 2018, they also partnered with gaming giant iSoftBet and with EveryMatrix as well. Extending their reach further and further, Kalamba Games soon started to become a more familiar name within the industry. 

In 2018, Kalamba Games’ talents were recognised when they were nominated in two categories in the B2B Awards shortlist. They were nominated both for the Innovation in Slot Provision award and the Software Rising Star award, both very prestigious titles.
